The print of this 2D rendition of Phillip's Cylinder XM8 sculpture is impressed using 12 separate plates printed via letterpress, for a print of stunning subtlety and texture. Each print triggers an Augmented Reality animation that conjures in our space a virtual interpretation of the Cylinder that inspired this print.

When activated, the AR cycles through a series of color gradients informed by Phillip’s work in light – creating here an exploration into how light and space can be represented virtually. The muted tones of the print were selected in contrast to the vibrant colors represented in the animation. Here, Phillip explores in virtual 3D how he envisions these sculptures presenting themselves when unhindered by reality.
